Statement: Taking Action in response to COVID-19
Updated May 21, 2020
At Kingston Trolley Tours we are first and foremost committed to the safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew. In light of recent developments regarding COVID-19 in Canada, we have made the necessary decision to postpone the start of our operating season. We plan to resume Trolley tours as early as July 1, 2020, along with other schedule changes. We will continue to be guided by the expert advise of public health officials, and we aim to set a reopening date as soon as possible. We are reaching out to guests who are affected by schedule changes changes, and all guests may choose to re-book for a later date, or opt for a full refund.
As Canadians respond to the coronavirus causing the COVID-19 respiratory illness, we are taking action to ensure that visitors can confidently enjoy Kingston’s 1000 Islands sightseeing excursions and Trolley Tours this year. Events will only resume when distancing measures are relaxed, and public health officials advise that it is safe. This year when joining us in Kingston and the 1000 Islands you will notice some changes to our operation. The Public Health Agency of Canada has advised Canadians planning events to make modifications that will reduce the chance for viruses to spread. In keeping with their recommendations, we have made changes including:
- Passenger screening before boarding
- Hand sanitizer stations at boarding and onboard
- Full disinfectant application before every departure.
- Additional spot cleaning of high-touch surfaces on a frequent schedule.
- Increased access to hand sanitization stations
- Emphasis on preventative hygiene practices with our staff and guests.
At Kingston Destination Group we are proud of our team’s proven commitment to maintaining an outstanding standard of cleanliness and safety. When public health officials advise that everyday activity in Ontario can resume, we are confident that our vessels and trolleys will be a safe place to spend time with your family, and we look forward to welcoming you aboard this year.
If you would like to reserve your preferred date now but are unsure about cancellation and refunds, we want to assure you that all tickets purchased at www.ktic.ca, www. kingstontrolley.ca or on the phone at 613-549-5544 can be refunded up to 24h before departure.
