Before your tour, let us answer some important questions for you:
Are tours operating right now?
Trolley tours are open and operating for the 2022 summer. Our summer season runs from May to October.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Pets, including dogs, are not permitted on board the Kingston Trolley. Service animals which have been professionally trained to work or perform tasks to assist a person with a disability are welcome onboard. The service animal must be a working service animal which has received professional training to remain calm and continue assisting its owner in a busy public transportation setting, including in an emergency situation involving loud sounds.
What is the best way to save on a tour?
Save when you buy a cruise and trolley tour together. Savings is automatically applied at checkout when you select a Cruise + Trolley “Package” from the Package dropdown. As of summer 2021, no other discounts are currently offered.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are highly recommended as only a limited number of tickets are available for each departure, tours tend to sell out in advance, especially on weekends and holidays. Same-day walkup tickets are not usually available; book ahead to avoid disappointment. We require a credit card payment at the time of booking. Please note that all reservations are non-refundable, but can be rescheduled to a future date with 24h notice.
How far in advance should I make reservations?
Individuals should try to book as far in advance as possible. Reservations can be made right up to the day of the tour, provided there is space available, but many departures sell out in advance, so booking ahead is important. We recommend calling as early as you can.
What number should I call to make reservations?
Individuals can call (613) 549-5544 or 1-800-848-0011 to book, or use our online reservation system. Online reservations show the same availability that our phone agents use.
What if I need to cancel?
All reservations are non-refundable, including tickets, passes, and certificates. If your travel plans change, we would be glad to help you adjust your reservation; you must contact us by phone at least 24h before your tour boarding time to reschedule for a different date or time. With 24h notice you can also cancel all or part of your reservation and receive a future credit certificate for any outstanding balance. Credit certificates expire in October of their issued year, and can only be used to purchase tickets, not for retail or onboard purchases. Within 24h of boarding all tickets are final sale and reservations cannot be changed or credited.
All members of your party must be present at the tour departure point at boarding time. No refund, delay, rescheduling, or future credit is possible for late arrivals. Tours depart rain-or shine: events will not be cancelled for inclement weather unless we determine the conditions are unsafe. If a departure is cancelled for any reason, including due to government regulations related to Covid-19, you will have the option to reschedule, or to opt for a full refund to the original method of payment.
Can I bring food or beverages on board?
Outside food and drink, with the exception of bottled water, cannot be brought onboard the Kingston Trolley. This requirement is strictly enforced: any person approaching with food items will not be allowed to board by the tour guide.
Can I bring a stroller on board?
Due to limited aisle space, please note that strollers will not be permitted, unless the unit is lightweight and fully collapsible. This will be strictly enforced: the tour guide reserves the right to deny a stroller if it will not fit onboard.
Which credit cards are accepted?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express online and by phone. Most Canadian Visa-Debit cards do not work in our system. At our ticket offices we accept Credit, Interac Debit Cards and Cash. On the Boat, at our onboard canteen and full-service bar, we accept cash, Interac, and credit.
Where does the Trolley depart from?
209 Ontario St. outside the Kingston Visitor Information Centre, just opposite City Hall. For detailed directions, click here.
Where do we park our vehicle?
Parking for cars is not provided on site, but is available at several downtown Kingston city lots all within walking distance to the Trolley departure point. (parking fees are extra). Please allow extra time for parking. We recommend the City of Kingston Parking lots nearby, which are the best value. The Hanson Memorial Parking Garage is the closest and most convenient lot to our location.
How early should I arrive for my tour?
All members of your party must be present at the Trolley departure point with tickets in hand for the boarding time indicated on your confirmation document. Please allow adequate time to park, and arrive at 209 Ontario St., Kingston Ontario.
